I invited Kari-Lise to join our book group, to give her perspective on the book, life in Norway, and Norwegian literature in general. It was Kari-Lise&#8217;s first visit to the island, and her first visit to any island in Casco Bay. She shared the background of other books by Petterson which related to the characters in &#8220;Out stealing horses.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u00a0We asked Kari-Lise for books by other Norwegian writers that she enjoys, and here are two of her recommendations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/book\/show\/31936168-the-unseen\">The unseen<\/a><\/strong>, by Roy Jacobsen, which takes place on an island! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/book\/show\/50157931-the-bell-in-the-lake\">The b<strong>ell in the Lake<\/strong><\/a>, by Lars Mytting, a historical epic novel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">This book is not by a Norwegian author, but it takes place in Norway (and is at LICL): <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/book\/show\/15775210-norwegian-by-night\">Norwegian by night<\/a><\/strong>, by Derek B.
